Driver Risk Manager
Following the completion of his Bachelor of Science degree at Keele University and a subsequent graduate role at Rolls-Royce Plc, Robert joined global infrastructure company, Balfour Beatty, in February 2009.
In an exciting new role, amongst other training and risk activities Robert headed up the company's state of the art Driving Simulator programme and training school in Derby. After success in this area and as Balfour Beatty began to realise the true value of managing occupational road risk effectively, Robert was challenged to lead and grow the Balfour Beatty Driver Risk Management function - reducing incidents, costs and improving safety internally, as well as providing this as a service to clients externally.
Today, Robert manages a dedicated team of trainers, coaches and road safety professionals and assumes responsibility for the Group's driver licence checking, grey fleet management, risk assessment and training, vehicle telematics, and permit to drive programme, as well as supporting a number of external clients. To support his role and inspired by his passion for road safety, Robert also completed a part-time PGc in Driver Behaviour & Education at Cranfield University, working with Dr Lisa Dorn and her colleagues in the School of Aerospace, Transport and Manufacturing.
